Being late to school/class or leaving early from school/class is considered an absence.

You must turn in your note within 3 days of returning to school after an absence.

Parents can only write 10 excuse notes per year.  After 10 parent notes, a doctor's note will be required for attendance purposes.

If you have 10 or more unexcused absences/tardies combined, charges may be filed against you.  If you have 3 unexcused absences/tardies in a 4 week period, attendance charges can be filed against you.

A tardy can count as an unexcused absence.

Please keep all contact information current with the school.

Good attendance is essential for students learning.  Please understand the impact non-attendance can have on grades as well as the possibility of fines levied through the court for failure to attend school.

Texas Compulsory Attendance Law Sec. 25.094. FAILURE TO ATTEND SCHOOL

  2. Fails to attend school on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period in the same school year or on three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period.
