San Angelo ISD Joins Community Partners to Welcome New Difference Makers at 6th Annual Tailgate Event

San Angelo ISD welcomed more than 100 new SAISD professionals to the district during the 6th Annual New to the SAISD Team Tailgate on July 29. The tailgate-style, celebratory event took place in the San Angelo Stadium parking lot and kicked off three days of professional learning support and development. 

SAISD campuses and departments and students participated in the event, cheering on the educators and staff and welcoming their new campus or department team members to the district, and in some cases, to the San Angelo community. More than 50 local businesses and organizations also attended the tailgate to welcome and show their support of the new SAISD team members. 

“The District’s annual New to the District Tailgate is more than simply a welcome to San Angelo ISD – it is a true showering of blessings from our community partners and the entire San Angelo community,” said SAISD Deputy Superintendent of Academics and School Leadership. “This event reflects the heart of San Angelo: a place where educators are embraced, supported, and celebrated from the very beginning. Through generous contributions, thoughtful gestures, and a spirit of unity, the tailgate reminds our new team members that they are not just joining a school district, but becoming part of a community that values and invests in their success.”
