Welcome back CHS Main students! FCA wishes you a Happy Easter and wants to remind you that Jesus has risen & the tomb is empty! Come meet with us today, after 5th Period in Carlyle 103! You will feel encouraged and convicted as we read some scripture together!

Good morning Central! Today the cafeteria will be serving spicy or regular popcorn chicken!

Senior Class Officers, we will have a short meeting at lunch today in Holmes 117, Mr. Blanco’s room.

Seniors: New Scholarship added today, it is the Central PTO Scholarship, you must have an 80 or higher overall GPA and your parent must be a member of the PTO (if not currently a member, they can still join).  Deadline is April 12 so come by the counseling center to get the application today so you can work on it this weekend!

Interested in going to Angelo State University for college? We have a campus and informational tour opportunity available for interested juniors and seniors, on Monday, April 12th. Please come by the counseling center to get a permission form. Forms are due back by Monday, April 5th and there will have limited spots available.

Texas Tech University will be here tomorrow. Juniors (only) come see Mrs. Chapman in the counseling center for a pass.

Congratulations to the Lady cats who participated in the district track meet last week and placed 4th as a team.  The top four in each event advance to the area meet.  Those advancing to the Area Meet for the Lady Cats are:

Shot Put- 2nd Layla Young

Long Jump- 4th Kaylin Edwards

Pole Vault- 2nd Caroline Steele

Pole Vault- 3rd Makenna McMillan

100 Meter dash- 4th Mya Moore

300 meter hurdles- 1st Arden Neff

4 x 100 meter relay- 4th Caroline Steele, Mya Moore, Sarah Scott, Alyssa Delgado

4 x 200 meter relay- 2nd Caroline Steele, Nevaeh Hearne, Sarah Scott, Madison Ortiz

4 x 400 meter relay- 2nd Caroline Steele, Jill Girsch, Nevaeh Hearn, Arden Neff

Scoring in the top six were:

100meter dash- 5th Deandra Allen

200 meter dash- 5th Sarah Scott

200 meter dash- 6th Madison Ortiz

800 meter run- 6th Alyssa Brewster

3200 meter run- 6th Bell Royer

Long Jump- 5th Peyton Mayberry

Congratulations to the boys track team for their performance at the district track meet this past week. The boys finished 3rd as a team. Central qualified 13 athletes in 9 events, including all three relays. 

The top 4 in each event qualified for the area meet. The area qualifiers are:

Jacob English- 1st in the high jump

Raven Ortiz- 1st in the long jump and 2nd in the triple jump

Andreas Sanchez- 2nd in the discus

Rylee Mendoza- 4th in the pole vault

Andres Diaz- 1st in the 400 meters

Tyler Hill- 3rd in the 400 meters

The 4 x 100 relay- 2nd (Jordan Weatherspoon, Andres Diaz, Landon Eubanks, Coleton Gossett)

The 4 x 200 relay- 4th (Jordan Weatherspoon, Hector Haechten, Cole McWilliams, Kente Nichols)

The 4 x 400 relay- 1st (Jordan Weatherspoon, Andres Diaz, Kente Nichols, Tyler Hill)

Also scoring in the top 6 for the boys were:

Josh Navarrette- 5th in the pole vault

Christopher Banks- 6th in the 3200 and 1600

Malik Haywood- 6th in the 100 meters and 5th in the 200 meters

The area qualifiers will compete in Odessa on April 16th.
