Welcome to the 2007 - 2008 Central Bobcat's and Lady Cats' Tennis Cats sweep district first team The Central High School tennis team swept the first-team honors on the boys' side of the District 3-5A tennis team that was released recently. Jeff Bryan made the first team at the No. 1 boys singles position, followed by teammates Chris Solley at No. 2, Zack Johnson at 3, Scott Motl at 4, Colby Meeks at 5 and Kanton Collins at No. 6. In doubles, Bryan and Johnson earned first-team honors at the No. 1 spot, followed by Solley and Motl at No. 2, and the duo of Meeks and Collins at No. 3. The Central boys were an astonishing 54-0 in district overall. They won all 36 singles matches and went 18-0 in doubles. The Bobcats won 108 of 110 possible sets. During their high school careers, this group of boys captured 26 combined first-team all-district honors in singles and doubles. This is the third time for Bryan to make the first team in singles and his first time to do it in doubles. Solley is a four-time first-teamer in singles and a two-time honoree in first-team doubles. Johnson is a two-time first-team choice in singles and doubles, and Motl is a three-time first-team pick in singles and a three-time first-teamer in doubles. Meeks has made the first team twice in singles and doubles. This is the first time for Collins to make the first team in singles and doubles. The Bobcats finished second in district and lost in the second round of the Region I-5A Tournament in Abilene. On the girls' side, Central's Lindy Williams made the second team at No. 4 singles, and Haley Hunt made the second team at No. 5. In girls doubles, Macy Barnett and Williams made the second team at No. 2, as did the mixed doubles team of Carson Pfluger and Hunt. Earning honorable mentions for Central were Anna Studt and Kristen Hensley at the No. 1 girls doubles position, and Barnett at No. 3 girls singles.
