Central beats Greenwood in last seconds of the game

With 7 seconds left in Monday's contest, the Greenwood girls basketball team and San Angelo Central
were tied at 40. Greenwood had Margeaux Baumann on the free-throw line, but when she missed, San Angelo Central's Mercedes Lopez took the ball coast to coast for the game-winning basket in a 42-40 victory for Central.

The Lady Cats fought the whole time, facing a tough greenwood team and looking for a revenge from the
loss they had in the Rangerette Tournament a couple of weeks ago. The Lady Cats were led by Mercedes Lopez
with 24 points. She was the only Lady Cat to score in double digits.

Central 42, Greenwood 40

The Rangerettes went into halftime trailing by eight points but got back in the game by outscoring the Lady Bobcats by 11 in the third period. Danna Howard led Greenwood with 14 points while Baumann also reached double figures with 10 points.
