Bobcats start off strong against Wylie, but fall apart in 2nd half

Last year, the Abilene Wylie High School boys basketball team was a state Class 3A finalist and Tuesday night the Central Bobcats found out the Bulldogs are pretty strong again this year.

Wylie downed Central 75-60.

Central (6-9) was down by just six at halftime, but No. 12-ranked Wylie (9-2) continued to hold the Bobcats at arms length throughout the second half.

"We had a good start and it wasn't as if they did a bunch of things better than us," Central head coach Tim Bozarth said. "We just didn't make shots, and they made shots."

Stevie Peasant lead the Central offense with 11 points and David Robinson added 10 but Central still lost its fourth game in its past five outings.

"We're doing things well enough that we should be winning some of these games but we're just not finishing," Bozarth said.
