WELCOME

These courses employ a teaching style of facilitation allowing the student to explore, discover, analyze, and create an end-product that they will be proud of.   I firmly believe in student-centered learning.

• Active participation by the student.
• Responsibility of the student
• Problem-solving by the student
• Peer – group learning by the students
• Seeking, researching, solving, analyzing, and evaluating
• Emphasis on critical thinking

The courses by their nature emphasizes group work, where students teach and learn from each other as they inquire and explore.   I emphasize – “work hard, have fun, and be nice”.   I treat all the students as responsible adults accountable for their own actions and decisions.   I strive to infuse in my courses a real-world production model in which they have to be to work on-time, perform work in a timely manner, and produce to the best of their ability projects / products which are professional in nature.

Every student has a different way of learning.   The course structure strives to adapt to the students’ various learning style: through one-on-one, peer tutoring, video and audio instruction, programmed texts, hands-on projects - to name a few.

I sincerely hope that you visit the lab anytime even while your kids are in class to view their work and accomplishments.
